Like a string of rowan beads, a string of painted beauties in scarlet sundresses floats across the stage, embodying absolute harmony. But soon the pacifying movement of the girls' round dance is replaced by a whirlwind of a valiant dance, the energy of which makes the heart beat zealously to the beat. A series of contrasts, a riot of colors, a change of rhythms themselves make you shiver, but the main thing here is the harmonious polyphony of the Russian choir, whose fading, then flashing vibrations touch to the depths of the soul. At the moment when the next note resonates with the inner melody of the listener, it becomes clear why the "Pyatnitsky Choir" became one of the national symbols of Russia.

Russian Russian folklore collector Mitrofan Efimovich Pyatnitsky organized the famous collective in 1910 — in the era of Russian Art Nouveau, when the country was experiencing a surge of interest in national origins. Traditional costumes, folk melodies, laconic, but at the same time catchy presentation — everything in this choir attracted the attention of the audience, jaded with European culture and finally discovering the beauty of the original Russian song. The first performances made a real splash, and subsequently the popularity of the band increased from year to year.
The successors of M. E. Pyatnitsky, P. M. Kazmin, V. G. Zakharov, T. A. Ustinova, V. V. Khvatov, V. S. Levashov and A. A. Permyakova picked up and developed the direction set by the founder, defining a series of further achievements. 1936 — the collective received the status of the state, 1959 — for great creative achievements was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, 1968 — awarded the high title of "academic", 1986 — awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples, 2007 — awarded the medal of the Government of the Russian Federation "Patriot of Russia", 2008 — became the laureate of the award "National the country's heritage".

At the same time, having carried through decades of loyalty to traditions, the choir has not only not become obsolete — it has developed the ability to adapt to changing realities and meet the expectations of new generations. The collective has turned into a real creative laboratory of the XXI century, within which there is an amazing fusion of modern genres and rhythms with timeless folk stylistics. The effectiveness of this approach is confirmed by popular love, world popularity and invariably full halls that the choir gathers around the world. The geography of his performances is all—encompassing, from Australia in the south to the Arctic Circle in the north and around the entire circumference of the planet: the USA, Mexico, all of Europe, the Middle East, Japan, China - the list includes dozens of countries and regions.
And yet, what exactly defines the phenomenon of the "Pyatnitsky Choir"? If we take the "personal data", then this is 80 reference beauties and beauties, at least 15 numbers in each performance, 3-4 costume changes. This is genre syncretism: song, dance, music. This is the Stanislavsky system and there is no phonogram.
This is what the choir is praised for.
