Nikolay Tsinman

Nikolay Tsinman was born in 1993 in the family of musicians. He graduated as a violinist from the Central Music School at Moscow State P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory where he had studied in the class of prof. Viktor Pikaisen and the Moscow State Conservatory with prof. Eduard Grach. He is a laureate of many international competitions and a participant of various international festivals. He has started to study conducting since the age of 16, and already next year he made his debut with the symphony orchestra of the CMS.  In 2014 with distinction he entered the Russian Academy of Music to study conducting with prof. Andrey Rein. In June 2016 he recorded a disk in collaboration with the Creative Studio of Leonid Lundstrem that was produced by NTV Broadcasting Company in Oleg Lundstrem's honour. In 2017 spring he got a first prize and a special prize “Orchestra’s respect” on the International N.Tlendiev Conducting Competition (Astana, Kazakhstan).

Nikolay participated in the education program and master-classes by Theodor Currentzis of the International Dyagilev Festival 2017 (Perm, Russia).In 2017, 2018 and 2019 he took part on the International prof. Yury Simonov Master-courses with the Moscow Philharmonic Academic Symphony Orchestra. From 2018 to 2024 Nikolai Tsinman worked as assistant conductor in the Academic Symphony Orchestra of Moscow State Philharmonic Society (the chief conductor is Yuri Simonov). During these years he assisted conductors Leonard Slatkin, Alexander Lazarev, Daniele Gatti, Yuri Bashmet in various programs. He had scholarships of the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation and of the Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation. He took part in staging the opera “The Queen of Spades” by P.I. Tchaikovsky performed by the Moscow Opera House. In June 2018, Nikolai presented the world premiere of Karina Arsamikova's Opera "Crime and punishment" at the International Diaghilev Festival (Perm, Russia), the founder and artistic director of the festival - Teodor Currentzis. In 2019 he got a second prize on the III All-Russian Conducting Competition in Moscow. 

Since 2024 Nikolay become a chief conductor of the Safonov Academic Symphony Orchestra of the North-Caucasian State Philharmonic. In 2025 he got a second prize and a special Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory prize on the II International S. Rachmaninoff Conducting Competition (Moscow, Russia). Nikolay is a regular guest of such festivals as Prityazhenie, Ars Longa, Alter Sono, Winter Yury Bashmet festival, Music Olympus and others. Jury member of the “Nutcracker” Television International Music Competition. In different operas and symphonic programs he has collaborated with soloists such as Vasilisa Berzhanskaya (mezzo-soprano), Vladimir Matorin (bass), Eliso Virsaladze, Ekaterina Mechetina, Dmitriy Masleev, Arseniy Tarasevich-Nikolaev, Alexey Melnikov, Sergey Redkin, Philipp Kopachevsky (piano), Alena Baeva, Aylen Pritchin, Nikita Borisoglebsky, Hayk Kazazyan (violin), Yuri Bashmet (viola), Alexander Ramm (cello). Nikolay has also conducted various orchestras, such as the symphony orchestras of Bolshoy and  Mariinsky Theaters, the Orchestra of Galina Vishnevskaya's Opera Centre, State Symphony Orchestra “Novaya Rossiya”, Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra,  Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra, St.Peterburg State Academic Capella, Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, Russian National Orchestra, State Academic Symphony Orchestra “Evgeny Svetlanov”.
