I. Strauss operetta "The Bat"

"The Bat" (German. Die Fledermaus is an operetta by the Austrian composer Johann Strauss. The German libretto by Karl Haffner and Richard Genet is based on the farce of the German playwright Julius Roderich Benedix "Imprisonment" and the vaudeville by French authors Henri Meljak and Ludovic Halevi "New Year's Eve" (fr. Le réveillon). The premiere took place on April 5, 1874 at the theater "An der Wien".
